The description makes me think of the city in Gullivers Travels, Laputa. Also the great film "Laputa, Castle in the Sky"

Sounds too much like a final fantasy song. This is probably down to the similer instruments used. On its own its pretty good

I love the use of the ambient instruments in the background. They really compliment the melody
I get confused, somtimes the melody sounds like its being played on a guitar and then other times like a harpsichord

hmm, there was no harpsichord as far as I remember, though I did throw on a few instruments to blend together. It is likely one of those gives the impression of harpsichord. It is however, a guitar that plays throughout the song!

Good old hammond organs, happy and reliable but this track needs some kind of bass line to hold it together
